About The Artist

My name is Rev. Hans Wunch. I am a pastor in South Carolina. I have been working with wood as a hobby for several years. After turning dozens of bowls, I decided to try my hand at pens. It is truly a wonderful art form; so tactile and useful.

I use only the highest quality woods, other materials and parts. I spend almost as much time finishing the pen as I do turning it. That is why those who pick up my pens often say, "How do you get it so smooth?" Really the pictures you see of the pens do not do them justice. They are much prettier in person.

You can rest assured that when you buy a pen from me that it will be a gift or a treasure for a lifetime.

Testimonials
"Thanks so much for the beautiful handmade pen. The Bethlehem wood reminds me of the many wonderful trips I've made there. I will treasure it always." Fmr. Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee

I had Hans make a custom fountain pen and pencil set for a dear friend of ours who graduated seminary. He made it out of the Bethlehem Olivewood & got a matching box & had our friend's favorite verses inscribed on the inside & outside of the lid in the version of scripture he uses. It was not only a great & unique gift, the craftsmanship showed & made it one of the more special treasured gifts he had EVER gotten before.

Hans also made us a set for our newly recently called pastor later that year. Same wood, same verses, but different set inside. He truly does care about his love for pens and his passion shows in his work. I highly recommend talking with him if you want a "knock their socks" off gift that is not a store bought gift, but a true classic work of good ol fashioned craftsmanship; something we find less of these days.

"Just posting to let you all know Hans has another satisfied (thrilled) customer. I received three pens from him today and they are all incredible. I can't wait to give them as gifts. Especially the 30.06 for my father in law since it is such a unique pen." Tammy

"Hans, thank you, we got the order today, wonderful, beautiful pens, works of art!" Holly

"Hans,
We took Dad out for his birthday and gave him the pen.  He was quite surprised and very pleased with it. Our waiter asked to see it, and I thought he was going to drool! Thanks again. Malinda"

"Hans,
Thank you so much for the great pen that you made for me! My wife Tracy ordered it for my Air Force retirement. It is outstanding! Thanks again for your craftsmanship. God bless always.
Sincerely
Rob

I have had several people want to see what I look like. I personally think this will decrease sales, but who knows? Here I am teaching some other pen turners how to finish a pen the way I do. I was teaching at Woodzone in Columbia, SC where I think I will be doing some teaching of classes in the near future.
