Awards

2008 Marks the first Statewide Award given to one of my pens. As SC does not have a "Pen" Category it took 2nd place among all Lathe Turnings. First place was a Large Walnut Platter. But mine was the ONLY pen that placed. Now this pen has 297 pieces of wood in it and is not for sale. But, I have one that I made at the same time that looks almost identical for sale on the Jr. Series page.
In 2009 I placed at the SC State fair again. This time taking 2nd Place in all lathe turnings. This year there were several other pens and only one other pen placed. This pen is my Jr. Emperor in uber rare Cocobolo burl. It is AVAILABLE for sale here, on this page.
In 2010 I discovered I was able to place my pens in several different Fair Categories. The result... 4 First place wins and 2 Second Place wins. Here is a picture of each of the winning pens and it's ribbon. Click on a picture to see a larger version. Several of these pens are for sale on their respective pages.
